British Flowers Week Events

Did you know that this week is British Flowers Week?

British Flowers Week is an opportunity to celebrate our beautiful, seasonal British flowers and support the growers who work so hard producing them.

Running from 18th-24th June, the idea is to encourage all of us to Buy British and to support our local growers. And not just this week, but all year round! We think this is a wonderful idea, and there are lots of ways you can get involved...

The organisers have arranged a number of events to showcase our wonderful British flowers and help people to find out more about them. We’ve picked out three of the more local ones that might be of interest to you:

Event One

Our first pick is an inspirational exhibition in the beautiful nave of the Garden Museum in Lambeth Palace Rd, London. The installation features designs by six UK florists created using only British flowers. Running from Monday 18th to the Sunday 24th June, you can find out all the details of the exhibition, including opening hours and ticket prices, at the Garden Museum’s website here:

Event Two

Our second pick is a trip to Greenwich market on Saturday 23rd June, where Clare Oliver Floristry will be running a pop-up shop selling a selection of British-grown seasonal blooms: Clare Oliver Pop-up Stall

Event Three

Our final pick is the open day at Chambers Farm Flowers in Marden, Kent. You can visit this Sunday, 24th June, to find out more about the flower farm and enjoy tea, proper coffee and cake! There will also be tours, mini-workshops, stalls selling local products – and of course, plants and flowers for sale. Admission is free, visit their website for all the details and to book workshops and tours:

You can see a full list of all the British Flowers Week events on the official website here:

And if this has encouraged you to “Buy British”, the official British Flowers Week website has a list of local suppliers and artisan growers that sell flowers in smaller quantities. Click here to go straight to the right page:

You can also use the British Florist Association's "Find a Florist" tool to discover florists in your area who stock British flowers:
